Sharing Customers or Application Records allows the technicians of the Recipient Reseller to license a system that is managed by another Reseller. The three licensing modes available to non-shared records also apply to shared records, dependent upon user permissions and system type.
Online/Offline synchronization with the AMC means the technician goes to the customer site and performs licensing sync using the shared Application Record ID.
Offline manual synchronization is only available to the Recipient Reseller if the license key has been previously downloaded manually by the Owner Reseller. If this is the case, then the Recipient's technicians will also have the ability to download the license key and to change the software version, if upgrading.
License assignment (including reassignment and unassignment) is available to all shared records with the following limitations:
Task |
Description |
Assignment |
Recipient can assign licenses from the Recipient's own license bank |
Unassignment |
Recipient can unassign licenses from the Application Record to the Recipient's License Bank. |
Reassignment |
Recipients can reassign licenses from one shared Application Record to another subject to AMC reassignment rules: Licenses from any given source Application Record can only be assigned to a destination Application Record under the same End Customer record. Note: Reassignment requires that more than one Application Record be shared OR that the entire customer record be shared. |
