The activation process is simplified when the Enterprise Manager server is connected to the Internet. However, it is still possible to activate a license in "off-line" mode.
When the Enterprise Manager server is connected to the Internet, activation is performed in the following manner:
Start the installation of Enterprise Manager. When your LAN connection is detected, you will be prompted to enter your Application Record ID.
Enter your Application Record ID. The server will connect to the AMC and complete the activation process. Enterprise Manager will inform you when the license key download is successful.
When the Enterprise Manager server is NOT connected to the Internet, activation is performed in the following manner:
Note: You will need one floppy diskette to complete off-line activation.
Start the installation of Enterprise Manager. When your LAN connection is not detected, Enterprise Manager will request off-line activation.
Insert a blank CD into the drive of the server and click 1. Create Floppy Disk.
When prompted, remove the floppy disk and take it to a PC that is connected to the Internet.
Insert the floppy disk into the floppy disk drive of the PC.
Launch a command prompt on the PC (Start > Run > cmd) and navigate to the floppy drive (A:/).
At the floppy drive command prompt (A:\>), type manualsync.bat. The application will contact the AMC and download the licensekeys file.
When the download is complete, remove the floppy disk and re-insert it into the floppy disk drive of the Enterprise Manager server.
Click 2. Continue install with Floppy Disk to download the licensekeys file to the Enterprise Manager server.
