The activation process is simplified when the MiCollab (Unified Messaging) server is connected to the Internet. However, it is still possible to activate a license in "off-line" mode.
When the MiCollab (Unified Messaging) server is connected to the Internet, activation is performed in the following manner:
Access the Server Manager interface.
Click Status.
In the Service Account ID field, enter your Application Record ID.
Click Activate. The server will connect to the AMC and complete the activation process. Refreshing the Status display shows successful activation.
When the MiCollab (Unified Messaging) server is NOT connected to the Internet, activation is performed in the following manner:
Insert the MiCollab (Unified Messaging) Base software CD.
Access the Service Console.
Select Access Server Manager. A confirmation screen appears.
Select <Yes>.
When prompted, enter the administrator password.
Insert MiCollab (Unified Messaging) IP CD #1.
Under the ServiceLink heading, highlight Blades and press Enter. A list of available blades appears.
Scroll down to off-line Vsync AMC offline synchronization support.
Highlight Install and press Enter.
Read the conditions of the End User License Agreement and, if you agree, highlight Accept all licenses and then press Enter. A report will appear to indicate that installation was successful.
The Clear this report prompt is highlighted. Hit Enter.
Enter Q to quit and then Y to confirm. You exit the Server Manager and return to the console.
Select Exit from the server console.
Access the Server Console again.
Select Offline sync with the AMC.
Select Create offline sync floppy.
Insert a floppy disk and press Enter. The server footprint will be copied to the diskette.
At the Please enter your Service Account ID prompt, enter your Application Record ID.
Transport the floppy diskette to a PC with Internet connection.
Run the sync.bat file from the diskette to synchronize with the AMC and receive the license key.
Return to the MiCollab (Unified Messaging) server with the diskette containing the license key.
Select Read offline sync floppy. The licensekey file is copied to the server.
