In the case of allocation errors, Distributors can de-allocate licenses from their Resellers' accounts back into the Distributor's own license account provided the license has NOT been activated (that is, no password has been downloaded and no ICP has collected the license key).
Note: If the product that you want to de-allocate does not appear in your Reseller's account, then it has already been used for a Customer system.
To de-allocate a license:
From the Self Service menu, click De-allocate a License under the Tasks section.
Click Retrieve, or enter search criteria on PO or Sales Order and then click Retrieve. Your Reseller's License bank appears..
In the De-allocate Reason text box, enter the reason for the de-allocation.
Select the PO or Product that you want to de-allocate.
In the De-allocate field, enter the quantity to de-allocate and then click De-allocate. A confirmation screen appears.
Confirm the de-allocation and click Confirm. The De-allocation transaction report appears.
Do one of the following:
Click Email to send the de-allocation transaction report to the Reseller's Administrator.
Click Done to return to the main menu.
If your de-allocation is not successful, an error message appears and the status is set to "failed". You must correct the condition that caused the error and retry the de-allocation.
